Nervous System Speaker, Trainer & Educator
The Nervous System is the Lens, Adaptation is the Work.
Some of the most meaningful conversations aren't about finding the perfect answer. They're about making sense of life's unexpected turns and discovering new ways to move forward.
Â
As a Registered Clinical Counsellor, Somatic Experiencing Practitioner, and nervous system educator, my work explores one central idea: adaptation.

Life doesn't always unfold the way we imagined. Illness, trauma, burnout, grief, caregiving, chronic stress, loss, and major life transitions can all leave us living in a reality we never expected.
Â
My passion is helping people understand how the nervous system responds to those experiences and how we can adapt with greater compassion, flexibility, and resilience.

I don't believe our nervous systems are broken; I believe they're adaptive. And when we begin to understand the remarkable ways our bodies protect us, we can stop fighting ourselves and begin working with ourselves instead.

Whether I'm speaking with clinicians, organizations, educators, or podcast audiences, my hope is always the same: to translate complex science into practical, compassionate conversations that help people feel understood, capable, and a little less alone.

Helping people live well when life and their nervous system no longer behave the way they expected.

I don't believe adaptation is something we do only after life's biggest challenges. I believe adaptation is one of the most fundamental expression of being human.
Â
Whether we're navigating illness, trauma, caregiving, burnout, grief, major life transitions, or simply discovering that life hasn't unfolded the way we imagined, our nervous systems are constantly adapting to help us survive.
My work explores how we can become more intentional partners in that process, responding with greater understanding, flexibility, and self-compassion rather than remaining stuck in protection or self-judgment.
Â
Professionally, this perspective has been shaped through my work as a Registered Clinical Counsellor, Somatic Experiencing Practitioner, nervous system educator, clinical supervisor, university instructor, and creator of Embody: Your Resilient Life.
Â
Personally, it has been shaped by nearly four decades of loving a parent living with progressive multiple sclerosis and, later, by navigating my own chronic illness. Those experiences didn't simply deepen my understanding of adaptation. They transformed it.
Â
Today, my work sits at the intersection of science, lived experience, and compassionate curiosity. I believe the nervous system gives us a remarkable lens for understanding what it means to be human, and that adaptation isn't about becoming someone new. It's about learning to meet the life we're living with greater wisdom, resilience, and humanity.

What You Can Expect
Whether I'm delivering a keynote, leading a professional training, or joining a podcast conversation, my goal is always the same: to create an experience that feels thoughtful, engaging, and genuinely human.

I love making complex ideas accessible through stories, humour, practical examples, and real conversation. Audiences often tell me they leave feeling as though they were part of the discussion rather than sitting through a lecture, and that's exactly what I hope for.

My presentations are tailored to the audience in front of me. Professional trainings are grounded in evidence and practical application, while public conversations invite curiosity, reflection, and meaningful dialogue.
Â
Regardless of the setting, I want people to leave with something they didn't arrive with: a new perspective, a deeper understanding, greater self-compassion, or a fresh way of approaching the challenges they're facing.

If people leave feeling a little more hopeful, a little more curious, and a little less alone, then I consider that time well spent.
