Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to feel ready before starting?
No. You do not need to feel ready, motivated, or fully resourced to begin. Embody is designed to meet you where you are. You'll be gently guided to learn how to engage in ways and the pace that match your existing capacity.
What is Embody: Your Resilient Life?
Embody: Your Resilient Life is a self-paced guided companion for nervous system health. It helps you understand your physiology, patterns of stress and safety, and how your nervous system responds to everyday life.
Who is Embody for?
Embody is for people who want to better understand themselves through a nervous-system-informed lens. It is for anyone looking to feel more regulated and present in their lives.
It is especially helpful for those experiencing chronic stress, overwhelm, anxiety, burnout, emotional reactivity, or a sense of feeling stuck. It is also well suited for people who are curious about nervous system health and are looking for a gentle, practical, and compassionate approach to personal growth.
When might Embody not be the right fit?
Embody may not be the right fit if you are looking for a quick fix or a prescriptive step-by-step program. It is also not a substitute for crisis support or intensive therapeutic care.
Do I need any prior knowledge of Polyvagal Theory or the nervous system?
No. Embody was designed for beginners and those already familiar. Concepts are introduced gradually and explained in everyday language. No previous knowledge or experience is required.
Do I need a lot of time or a clear schedule to participate?
No. Embody is designed to support you while you are living your life, not when everything finally settles down.
This guided companion is built around small, manageable pieces that can be engaged with flexibly. You have two years of access and can move at your own pace, skip around, pause, and return whenever you need to.
Is Embody self-paced?
Yes. There are no deadlines or required timelines. You can engage in ways that fit your capacity, preferences, schedule, and rhythm.
What is included in Embody?
Embody includes 10 educational modules, many guided mindful audio practices, reflection worksheets, nervous system resources, and practical tools designed to support learning, awareness, and everyday application.
Everything is self-paced and available for two years.
What if I feel overwhelmed, burned out, or low on energy right now?
You do not need to feel ready or fully resourced to begin. You may choose to start with a practice, engage lightly with the material, or simply explore a topic that feels relevant right now.
Even brief contact with the content can be meaningful. There is no expectation that you move through Embody in any particular way. And as you learn to work with your system, you will find more capacity waiting for you!
What if a practice doesn't feel supportive for me?
Listening to and trusting your own experience is not only encouraged; it is an essential part of how Embody works.
Practices can be adapted, modified, or paused. Pushing through or overriding your own signals often reinforces stress patterns rather than supporting nervous system health.
Is Embody trauma-informed and nervous-system-aware?
Yes. Embody emphasizes pacing, choice, curiosity, and respect for capacity. It avoids approaches that rely on force, pressure, or reactivation.
Is Embody therapy or a replacement for counselling?
No. Embody is educational and experiential in nature and does not replace therapy, counselling, medical care, or other professional support. However, it can become a strong foundation for all of those other resources to be supported by.
Can I participate in Embody alongside counselling or other forms of support?
Yes. Many people engage with Embody alongside counselling, therapy, coaching, body-based practices, or other forms of care. A deeper understanding of the nervous system can often help other supports feel more accessible and effective. It is recommended that other professional supports be versed (or willing to learn) in the nervous system and polyvagal theory in order to deepen and expand your growth.
Is Embody appropriate for therapists, coaches, or helping professionals?
Yes! Many helping professionals participate in Embody for their own personal support and nervous system health. The concepts and practices can also inform their work with clients within the scope of their professional training. Embody is an excellent resource to reduce or minimize the impacts of care-giver burnout/fatigue, increase self-care and overall health and wellbeing.
